BPC Faculty & Staff Resources
The College of Computing and Informatics has an approved Departmental Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) Plan. This plan has been verified by BPCnet and is approved for use between September 2023 – September 2025.
How can faculty use the BPC Plan? There are two ways in which faculty can engage with the BPC Plan. The first is it is required for the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) proposals. The CISE BPC effort requires CISE Principal Investigators include a BPC Plan in proposals. The following programs require a BPC Plan: CISE Core Programs, Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC), Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), and Expeditions in Computing.
Secondly, the BPC Plan can also be used as a guide for faculty and staff to engage in inclusive excellence efforts. As a college, we can create an additional BPC Plan used for internal use as a reference to goals and activities that connect to CCI’s equity strategic plan.
Upcoming events:
- CCI Equity & Inclusion Committee, Spring 2024, bi-weekly meetings, email Lauren Slane at lslane@charlotte.com to be added to the calendar invite.
